I voted early on in this thread that it had been of help to me but the info that's been provided especially this weekend has given me a lot more twigs and branches to look up so a very BIG thankyou to everyone who has helped.

Fabulous site! Have managed ,so far, to trace one branch of my family back to 1715, thanks to lots of help on here and a few lucky breaks!!
Keep up the good work. What else would we do on rainy afternoons? (Well I suppose there are a few things...)

I cannot thank everyone enough for the help that they have given me in my family search.  This also includes help on identifying different districts, areas, Churches etc when you are not familiar with the area your relatives lived at.  I have found out more about my ancestors in a couple of weeks with Roots Chat, than what I have for the past eighteen months trying to do it by myself.  I'm only hoping that I'll be able to repay some of that help back.
Kind regards and best wishes to all

Yes Rootschat has been VERY GOOD for me

I am researching some very uncommon name (LOL) Brown Smith and Wood and I was browsing through the website and came across someone who had asked for the same family census as I was looking for and low and behold she was looking for her Gt Grandad who turned out to be the brother of mt Gt Grandad, now these were Brown's.
