Rootschatters have helped me break down brick walls, and I've also found a distant cousin through here.  They've also given me far more knowledge about genealogy than I had before I joined.

Definately yes when descendants and distant relatives find you .....

my 2nd cousin once removed, a descendant of Captain Thomas's Lees son, found me on here (Rootschat)and we are now in regular contact and it appears that there is himself a Grandson of  Thomas's first Son, my mother Grand daughter of Thomas's second son and also another lady who he has written to who is the Granddaughter of Thomas's daughter all still alive, we are hoping to organise a meet between them ;D

I'm sure that RootsChat will be of help.

I'm very much a new girl on the block but I'm impressed with the quality of the responses already received and I've got a lot of research ahead.

I'm looking forward getting to know this online community and to the giving and receiving of help and information.

A resounding yes!!!! I only joined in the last couple of weeks after finding the site by accident. Thought I'd give a whirl. Quelle surprise!!! Within a couple of hours I had received a number of extremely helpful replies and confirmed a couple of threads from same.

It's great to find people who are ready and willing to help someone they don't know.

I'll be using it again and again and again and.............

Cheers everyone!
