It is one of the hardest family names to research, my great grandparents were John and Mary Williams, also my husbands great grandparents were John and Mary Williams, luckily mine from St Asaph and Amlwch, his from Caernarvon.

Still looking for Great grandmothers family of Roberts who had a farm outside Amlwch.

Records office in Llangefni are very helpful as to BMD and parish registers.

Mine married in St Cybi's Holyhead, don't know about in laws yet, and they are all buried in Holyhead.

My GGrandmother Roberts has a sister Jane buried on the little churchyard on the Menai Straits, would love to find her also.

I also have an uncle who was an Owen from Bethesda.

Good luck with your search glen o.

My auntie Ginnie's mother was a Jane Williams born C1861 in Llanfechell near Cemaes. In 1861 she is at 1, Tallon (?) in a sub district of Llandyfrydoch which I think included Llanfechell at the time. Her father is JOHN age 29 an ag.lab. and mother is Elizabeth 30 both born Llanbadrig.

That John's father could be another John age 61 in the 1851c  in Llanbadrig at Pentregof a farm of 10 acres with wife ellen 50 and other children Ellen,Mary and William.

Auntie Gin still had relatives in the Cemaes area in the 1930s to 1950s and maybe later. We used to stay with a Mr. and Mrs. Williams at 5 Athol St. Cemaes Bay (they had a son Emrys) when on holiday and once went with Auntie Gin to visit some others at a farm over by Penrhyn Rocks.

Jane Williams 1861 married a Jones in Liverpool who was a brother of my paternal grandmother.

I am a Williams but from a lot starting from Nercwys/Mold who had a John in 1836 - my g.grandfather. And so it goes on,and on, and on---- Yours Alan

This Williams is my mothers grandfathers side who came from St Asaph North Wales originally and settled in Anglesey, her grandmothers side came from a farm near Amlwch but they were Roberts, I have yet to find them.

Where do you live Alan? I live in Kent but originate from Anglesey and have lots of family there.

I can understand your mix-up. The multiple Williams curse again. I was born and brought up in Liverpool but am now retired and in Conwy (the town) for no other reason than liking it here. I pop over to to Cemaes about every year, it's not changed a lot. Alan

I had relatives who settled in Liverpool also some Williams that are still there haven't seen them since I was a child I am in touch with one he is a padre in    Cardiff now.

I love Conwy always like to stop off there on our way to Anglesey, will be there in June as we are going to a wedding.
Cemaes is lovely too, have been there many times over the years when my children were young and now if we can fit in the time.
