I can't find them in 1861, have you found James, you would imagine he should be with his parents?

I think I have found a death for James

All this information to go through! 

Duck - I suppose it is possible that he remarried as he was widowed young enough.  Something I'll have to dig into I guess when I've got all the current info digested and inserted into the family tree.  I shall check the 1911 census and see what I find.

Unfortunately, as I stated earlier, all the family are no longer with us so there isn't a reliable source of information on any of these people

Just had a quick peep at the 1911 index which is free .. I would say Simon is on a fairly good bet with this.

It looks as though they may also have had a daughter called Martha, age 3 born in 1907 .. this should help confirm your search before you commit yourself.

I'd say the Martha Alice date of death in 1899 is correct as I do know that she died very young, in her mid twenties!

As for yet another Martha in the family, I'll have to see if I can find out if William DID re-marry!

If you check the 1911 .. I think you'll find he did .. !

Mothers maiden name is Rayner for all

My Grandmother was Catherine Ellen Gorman, Married to my Grandfather Thomas Baron Porter. My Dad was the youngest of the family. She was born in Aldershot.
