Gorman Family in Preston

Wow I didn't expect so many replies quite so soon... thanks for all of them.  

Unfortunately all my family who would know any of the Gorman information are all deceased so there's nobody to ask personally!  I had heard though that William was a Chimney Sweep and the 5 year old Francis is my Grandfather so I'm sure that's them!!  

I had no idea as to his mother's Maiden name, his siblings or that his father was from Dublin - I knew the family came from Ireland somewhere along the line but thought it was further back.  I shall take all the information you've all supplied and see what more I can find using it!

I have looked at the marriage of Francis Gorman and Sarah Burkey and can only find one between a Burkey and a Gorman in the country at any time, their christian names are Francis and Sarah.  Sarah was very young but I have seen younger. 

Can anyone find the Gormans in the 1861 Census, blowed if I can

As you already know Simon, because we've discussed it .. ! 

We've found a possible Sarah on the 1841 and 1851 census, aged 4 and 14 respectively. Sarah would have been 16 and Francis possibly two years older when they married .. if that was the right marriage and if it's the only one .. ?
