Fortunately the Nat Archive is not too far - it's hard to find the time sometimes though
Had some fantastic documents, one branch of the family has three chancery cases in the 17th C.

I was defeated when looking at feet of fines, the hand it was written in was incomprehensible, and the language latin - this was 1708 or so when most docs are in English.

I may have another go, but I could not work out which doc within the bundle was the one I was interested in

Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
