Sleight & Hollingsworth Lincolshire, Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire.

I am looking for any information on Sleight and Hollingsworth family.
George Sleight who was a road worker for the council born around 1877 and married Lilly Hollingsworth in 1915 at Basford, Nottingham.
 Lily as born Caistor area Lincolnshire around 1895 and died of TB in 1943. We think they had about 15 children.
Dorothy the youngest, born 1934 from Grimsby.
Doreen  1933    Caistor,
Ernest   1930    Caistor,
Joyce     1928    Caistor
Joseph William 1926 Caistor who married Ivy,
Annie     1925    Caistor
Harry     1923    Caistor who married a Kathleen May Madden.
George  1920    Sleaford,
May       1919    Sleaford,
These names we are not sure of being siblings of Dorothy sleight.
 Mary, Katherine, Barbara, Tom, Timothy, John.

Lily’s father is Thomas Hollingsworth
Georges father is Joseph Sleight, mother Mary Ann Gooding
Joseph father William Sleight. (Both George & William’s name is spelt Slight in the census.

Hi Stringbean,

I can only find 1 marriage of a male Sleight to a female Hollingsworth 1900- 1935  in any district- and that is of your george and Lilly -so most probably the children named belong to your family
I suppose you have these -but may as well list them

Hi Suz
Nice to here from you and thank you for spending the time to find this information for me.

From your information I now know all these children have to be ours. I was not sure of Jack & Florence and did not know of Jacks Death.
I can not find Doreen on the FreeBMD, I keep trying but no informarion at the moment.

My mum Dorothy has always said she is the youngest of 15 and this now has found 12.
I know George Sleight & Lily Hollingsworth were married in 1915 at Basford, Nottingham. George was 38 and Lily 20 so I think George was married before lily and could have had 3 children.

I also know they have lived at Beeston in Nottingham.

Good news, I have found that my family tree connects to this family tree.
Starting with Thomas Hollingworth who is my great grandfather who is married to Mary Ann Moore nee Glenn.
I have found that the name varies between Hollingsworth/Hollingworth.

This tree has 343 individual names and 86 unique surnames,
these are the main names in this family tree.

150 Hudstons
20 Smedleys
26 Dennis
