Well here I am again after another 2 hours of fruitless searching :'(

The Peter Lloyd I am searching for was born Lancashire 1892, to Peter Lloyd and Janet Daley.  As far as I know he came to Canada alone were he met his wife probably in 1911, and was married by 1915.

The records I (and you all) have found on line so far are not matching up.  I have looked on every Canadian Resource I can find and cannot find a single match for him, I am starting to think he is still alive at the grand age of 117 :o that or of course he maybe relocated again (pest!).

Thank you so much for your kind offer Lynwen, but no point in your searching the microfilms as yet until I have something definate to go on.  (I know this from spending 2 hours at my own Library this morning on military searches).

I am starting to think this is one of those 'brick walls' they talk about, cant find him anywhere :'(

Thanks again

 ;D Thanks J.J. I just might.

Getting nowhere fast.  I messaged a lady on Genes Reunited who has traced an Edwin Lloyd born 1915 in Montreal ??? on the same family tree, which confuses the issue even further for me.  Waiting to hear back from her with what I am hoping will be some more help, but nothing as yet :'(

Hello Bluehound,

Could you tell me Peter's full name? The one on the BC Vital Statistics Indexes could very well be your ancestor.

I have found a burial at the Masonic Cemetery, Burnaby, BC for a Pete Phillip Joseph Lloyd . On the Indexes he is

listed as Phillip Peter Joseph. He died 1948 which would make his birth date 1891. Now it all depends who gave

the  information when he passed away; many mistakes were made by informants on deaths.

Hi Lilybell

Yes we found that one and disgarded it with being the wrong name - but you never know I suppose ???

All I have is on the 1901 census here in the UK is Peter Lloyd aged 10 living with his parents Peter Lloyd and Janet Lloyd - no mention of another name, but then looking at the 1911 census which he is NOT on his brother Charlie (my Granddad) is only listed as Charlie and not Charlie Henry as was his name.  I do know that mother Janet (or Catherine as she was also known?) was RC so the names do fit the Catholic connection too.

Dont suppose we can find out if Peter Phillip/Phillip Peter was married or had any children?  Or is that going too far?

Thank you for help, in case you havent noticed this is still driving me quite bonkers.

Bluehound,

Well this is your lucky day for sure. I checked with the Masonic Cemetery in Burnaby and the Peter in their

cemetery is your ancestor. He is buried  in plot 404 Grave #1 Section BX. He was born in Lancashire, He was a

Freemason. His wife Elsie A Lloyd died 05/05/1956 she was born Redding England. She is buried beside Peter in

plot 404 Grave #2 Section BX.

I have contacted a library and they will e mail his death registration to me today now I will ask them for Elsie's also.

When I receive them I will email them to you. If you PM me with your email I will forward them onto you.

Bluehound,

I forgot to mention in my previous post the address on the envelope you posted is the address the Cemetery has

for him. If you contact someone at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindess for Vancouver someone will be able to

take photos of headstones if you wish.

Hello again,

Based on the information Lillybell has added I have found the following marriage in Manitoba....the Peter is missing from the index but the rest seems to fit. This may match to the Peter in Manitoba in the 1911 Census?

Philip Joseph Lloyd
Elsie Contance Holloway
11/08/1915
Souris, Manitoba

You can purchase the certificate on line. It should give you birth date and place, parents names, and one or two other bits of info. Here is the link...I used Philip Lloyd to search the index.

Hi again :),

Forgot to mention that the death Lillybell found for the wife of Philip Peter is listed as Elsie Constance Lloyd in the BC Archives Website, death 05/05/1956.

I wonder if there might be Newspaper Obituaries for either party. I know nothing about this aspect but someone else is sure to. They would possibly mention any children they may have had. They would have married after the privacy cut-off dates for birth information for Manitoba, where they may have lived for some time, or BC.
