I know of some Dunbavand people in Chester, though they are not connected to me. I think it is likely they are connected as it is such an unusual name.

Hi Red

What time frame are you looking at?  One of the executors in my 5 x great grandfather's Will was a Daniel Dunbavand, a yeoman of Keckwick (which I think was in the Runcorn parish at that time). I think that Daniel might well have been a cousin of my ancestor, John Sumner (whose mother was a maria Dunbabin).  I've seen the name written various ways including Dunbavand, Dunbavin, Dunbabin, Dunbobin.

There's a Sarah Dunbavand nee Hampson  buried Runcorn Town Cemetery 1918 aged78  Thomas her busband lost at sea Jan 16 1910. aged 70

thank you all for replying. Sorry I haven't been online for ages, but things happening at home.

Anyway, where was I....

I have Thomas Dunbavand, b c. 1844, not sure where. I don't know his wife's name, but they had a son, John Dunbavand b 1823, Runcorn.
 John married an Eliza Bettley 1843, Runcorn, he was a 'waterman' and died in 1862, Runcorn. John and Eliza had a daughter, Sarah b  1843, Runcorn.
Sarah married Samuel Miller, 1863, Farnworth, Lancashire. Sarah and Samuel had 3 children that I know of. Elizabeth Ann b 1865, Runcorn. She married Solomon Mason, my Gt Gt Grandfather.
Herbert Thomas Henry b 1870, Runcorn.
John William b 1870, Runcorn.

I have quite a lot of information on the Mason side of my tree,but the Dunbavand side is a mystery. If any of you can help, I would be very grateful.

Hiya Red....have a look at this ...Percy Dunbavand wrote something about 6 generations of Dunbavand Watermaen in Runcorn...he wrote it in 1982  so it says...
