Sorry about the delay in replying. This is some information I have about the Sands family.
Jane (or Jeanie) Sands was the daughter of John and Margaret Sands of Ward of Goodie Farm, near Port of Menteith. Jane was born about 1864 when her father would have been about 58 years old.
Jane married James Nimmo (Nimmo is my middle name and, unusually, what I am always called!) probably about 1882. James worked on the farm. James’s family came from Carriden on the Firth of Forth.
James and Jane had 5 children of whom the second youngest was Mary Nimmo who married James Kay, a farmer from Gargunnock near Stirling. My mother, Margaret, was one of their 6 children.
As far as I can gather, Jane Sands had 3 brothers and 1 sister but I do not know any more about them.
