I do appreciate the help from everyone. Yes got the right family now.
I have been trying to locate an address in Wimbledon for ages.
The last named Phoebe is almost certainly Mabel Louise Annie b. 1887

I see mistranscribed  as Steves or stevers.
You are a smart lot. I am still a novice at all this and I don't know where I'd be without
so many rootschatters taking the time to help.
So much appreciated.

I think we are related!
My grandfather was Walter Bifield Stevens. He married for a second time in 1901 to Myra Ellinor Harris and my father was the eldest of their three children.
I've only just found rootschat and your enquiry made me join up!

Hello Aussie Di.
that would be amazing. Walter Bifield Stevens  1856-1815 was my Great Grandfather. His fist marriage to Rose Anna
Roe 1851-1898(Born at Dughshai, India) to William and Catherine Roe ended with her death in 1864. He did then marry
again Myra Ellinor Harris in 1901. She was born in 1876.
My records only show two children Leonard Walter born in 1908 and George born in 1911.

Walter and Rose had 6 chidren, one of whom was my grandmother Muriel Ethel Stevens(1997-1970) Her daughter
Frances Rose(1911-2007) was my Mother.
I have been working on family history for some years now and making slow progress. I do have lots more information
to share if you are interested. I am in Brisbane Australia.

This is going to sound a really silly question: are you in Brisbane now, or overseas?
I have had a begging email purporting to come from you.
Have sent you a fairly detailed email of my side of the family (also giving my married name) but no response from you. Have we got a problem?
Di

Yes a problem. I 've had to change my e-mail address due to a hacking problem,  but I can't post the new one here.
And looking at the ''help' pages I can't seem to find out how to noticy rootschat
administration. Any ideas what to do now.

You tale does not suprise me.

I have an ancestor who although age 8 at the time of 1901 census does not appear on any census return, and I did not know about her until she suddenly turned up age 18 living with her parents.  Also on the 1881 none of her 3 brothers appeared either and it was not until I found the 1891 census for this family that I found that the "childless" couple actually had children.  But now I know better & have managed to obtain certs for all children.

I do wonder if some of either our ancestors or the enumerators got a bit confused and only named the adults living at an address.  Or a neighbour gave details of parents but did not bother naming the children.

Good luck with you search
