I have cropped and enlarged the picture that is at the back of the hospital photo. It is a bit fuzzy but maybe another clue.

It could be any of a number I'm afraid!!!

It even looks like a Northamptonshire collar dog....Or anything from Royal Guernsey Militia to Royal Engineers passing via  13th AND 18th Hussars...So sorry, I don't think that would help much...

Hello, I am new to this and have not quite figured out the gears.
My maiden name is Charles. My Grandfather was William  John Charles and owned a Jewelry Store across the park from The Palace. Does this sound familiar to you?
