Hi David I have only just become aware of your post on rootschat and yes it has come as a surprise to learn of your father's birth and we were completely not aware of you, your father and family. Isabella Guthrie was my mother-in-law who as you say was born in Auchterader in 1909. She had four brothers, John, Peter, William and James. She married a Herbert Norris in Manchester in about 1940 and they had two daughters Barbara and Catherine. She lived to a good age of 103 years.
I hope this fills in a little more information about your father's birth mother.
