who lives in this house?

I've tried the lancashire board without success so I'm hoping for better luck this time.
I'm trying to solve the mystery of an absent father. His name isnt on the birth certificate but he existed and I have the details of his death. He was living with the mother of the child at the time of his death in 1923.
 I know his child was born in 1906 in Manchester. The father John Eric Davies is living at 13 Sanitary St. Manchester in 1912 but not 1911. I want to know if the mother , Margaret and the child are living with him. Any ideas as to how I can find out? I've had no luck with any census.

Looking on the 1911 census, there's a John Davies 31, Margaret Davies 29 and Donald Davies 4, living together on Sanitary St, Manchester in the 1911 census. I can't tell the house number without paying, although you could try entering every house number in the search box until you identify it.

Not sure if this is useful, info you've already got or a red herring but good luck.

thanks for taking the trouble and the credits! to look that up. I do have that info but it doesnt match the D.O.B. of the parents or the name of the child who was called Walter Donald and the birth of John was 1872  and Margaret was about 1886. I have this info cos I looked on the microfiche at John Erics death and I have the internment details of Margaret who died in 1956. This pair are causing me much frustration !

I think it would be a very big coincidence to find another couple with the same names living in the same street, with a child of the right age with the name Donald.  Ages on the census (and on death certificates) are often inaccurate; and full names are not usually given, so if they were calling the lad by his second name (which wouldn't be unusual), they might well not put his first forename on the form.

Have you looked at the original page for this entry?  The ages might be wrongly transcribed, especially if the writing isn't very clear.  But if your birth year information is derived from death certificate details, it may be wrong anyway.  I think you should take a closer look before dismissing this family.
