Hi CJL,

Once again thanks for all your help. I will have to try the Borthwick again and maybe expand my area of search around Swinton and Amotherby areas to see if I can locate a burial record for Mary Amelia Hopper. It doesn't look as though she was buried at Bridlington. At the time of her death she was living with her daughter and son in law George Thompson. The Thompsons originally came from Gillamoor & Farndale near Kirkbymoorside but some travelled to the Barton le Street area near Malton where they Farmed. George was born in Butterwick/Barton Le Street so I will check those Parishes.

I will add the baptisms of Francis and Jane's children to my tree. One thing I have noticed is that the name of Rueben Millner crops up a bit. He is also a witness to John Hopper's will and seems to witness other family events so may be a distant relative of the Hoppers.

You are more than welcome.  If there are any other names you would like me to look for just let me know.

As regards to Reuben Millner, he appears as a witness on a considerable number of marriages which took place at Bridlington Priory.

In the 1840 Whites Directory of Trades and Professions for Bridlington,  there is a Reuben Milner shown as a Union Clerk.

1851 Census
St. John Street, Bridlington  Reuben Millner aged 45 years, Clerk to the Guardians

I think that he may have witnessed marriages etc in some official capacity.

If I can be of any further help, just let me know.

Regards
CJL
