Hi Angela

Just an aside, but Moon Grove is still there in Rusholme.  Its a really unusual little sidestreet with cobbles and gaslights, probably hasn't changed much in 100 years - unlike the rest of Rusholme!

best wishes

Paul

Thanks for that Paul.

Its nice to know where these places are.  Been googling and numbers 4,5,6, and 7 are grade 2 listed buildings. Still checking things out.

Thanks for your input. All is welcome. Angela.

Just found out that Alfred Udall did have a sister Maria born abt 1845 so that would kind of fit. All I need know is her marriage.

So well done Tricia Q on your detective work.

All the best Angela.

Tricia I worship you.

That is fantastic, I didn't mean for you to go to the trouble of looking for them but I am absolutely delighted that you have found them. I can't thank you enough.

I would be at a loss without you. You are wonderful.

 All the best Angela.

i cant paste  to this sight but i have a very long beeston history of udall name ... horatio is the 1st settler to church st beeston born in 1817 he married sarah prestwood went on to have several children named elizabeth udall /prestwood john udall /samuel udall/urban udall / amelia udall / one was fanny udall born 1834  who married a william hilton machinin 1859  he was a traveling salesman they had 3 children adela f machin sam hilton  machin elizabeth machin but the marriage did not last he went on to have more children but she settled in clay cross derbyshire as the first tailoress there . there is tones more reading on this family but my own family from there goes fannys son sam hilton machin went on to have children and he called them ada machin /harold udal machin /archibald udall machin /urban  udall machin /prestwood  udall machin /hilda annie machin / elsie udall machin /ans sam udall machin (my grandad ) as a family we always thought udall as a middle name was strange but as you can see it was a surname brought in by a family member to keep his mothers names still alive :)
