Hi Mad Jock,
I have looked at the thread you have reopened regarding Jane Rainey daughter of Henry & Charlotte. The names of Henry & Charlottes family are all names that occur in my families tree with son John being the link. I wondered if you had any other information on any of these 'Raineys' that I may be able to link up with. Await your reply Borris

I haven't been on here for a while and not updated my info. My Henry Rainey as it turns out did not marry Charlotte, he had a marriage to an unknown from around 1840 to 1858, he then married Elizabeth Borland in 1849 and had a son Daniel born 1859.

The children of Henry with unknown mother are John Raineyb c1842 and married Maria Caldwell in 1869 Ballintoy, Jane Rainey b1847 in Ballynagarvy and d 1887 Ballymoney she married James Mccaldridge (Alexander) in 1872 Finvoy- this is my connection, Henryb 1855 d 1932 in Kilmoyle he married Eliza ?  and James b 1858 Mullans Co Antrim.

The 1911 census for Ireland has most of the family living in Benvarden. The info has been gleaned from a Lady Dorothy who has done extensive research in Co Antrim and from a cousins visit to Ballymoney last year on a genealogy trip, also from the website www.emeraldancestors
