Hi busbod,
There is nothing stupid about the learning process :D

The Australian chatters are here to help and we get as much fun from finding a piece of information and passing it on as you and others get from receiving it.

I'm sure we are all waiting for you to successfully make contact with the phone number and hearing the outcome.

Well said Sue  :)

My only suggestion would be - when you call have a few thoughts on what to say  ;D  I called once hoping to find family & when they said - Oh yes - that was my husband's grandmother (first call & I had a few possibilities) - I didn't know what to say next - not like me to be lost for words ::)

Hi Sue and Trish

Thanks for your responses.  Yes Trish, I know what you mean about knowing what to say.  I've just rung a D Rushworth from the white pages (it transpires that Gwen and William had a little boy called Dennis when they went).  Anyway, this chap wasn't the one (he was called Douglas) but he was very chatty.  Turned out his parents had emigrated from Leeds and his father was called William Vause Rushworth.  Talk about so near yet so far.

Still, I'll keep trying and let you know if and when I come up with anything.

Hi everyone

This is just to let you know that I've found them. I spoke to my cousin's cousin Bill this morning in Sydney.  He was my last try (the last Rushworth in the book with the initial W).  I knew that his Father had died in the seven hills area so I thought it's got to be worth a try, he could be called Bill after his father and hey presto - correct. He was delighted to hear from me.  I've given my cousin his e-mail address and she is going to contact him.

So thank you very much again to everyone who has helped me - I  couldn't have done it without you!!!

Hi Busbod,
That is a most wondeful result ;D ;D ;D

It will give a lot of chatters a lot of joy to read that you have got the outcome you hoped for.

Hi Sue and Trish,

Yes, I agree.  As my Mum always says "it just goes to show what a little perseverance can do".
