Welcome to Rootschat but if the family were Presbyterian they are unlikely to appear in Methodist records as it's an entirely separate denomination.

Hi,
I have found a James Adair who married a Catherine Dunbar in Regent Street Methodist Church, Newtownards on 4 Oct 1898. It was usual in Ireland, in Protestant marriages, to get married in the brides church and then the family followed the husbands religion.

Regards

PS Family appear to be in House no. 21 Movilla St. Newtownards Urban in 1911.

Thank you so much - that information really seems to fit.  Can anyone help with how best to track this family further back - I really don't know very much about what is available in N Ireland.  The 1911 census result certainly fits.

Kind regards

hello

My family were in Church Terrace in 1901 and also lived in Movilla street in 1911 and in fact, Adair is connected to my family too.  If you would like to speak privately then contact me on (*)

Thanks Sebrofa - I would like to know more but I am not allowed to use the PM facility yet as I am such a newbie.  Actually, I see that I am now up to three postings, so will try to get in touch!

Hello,  I am looking for a William Kelly who married Agnes Polly around 1920.  He was the son of David Maxwell Kelly and Mary Ann Boyd.  Any information would be appreciated.
