  have been hunting for Sarah and Robert for years and ive not found them any father back than the 1871 census, will keep looking.  can you give me a bit of info on the Edward your looking for, you say hes on a marriage cert?  whos? i,ll see if i can track him down.  i,ll have a look for Mary Hughes c1820 marring george sanders/sauders too.

Hi all
Henry Manley ( 1881 - 1972 ) married to Mary nee Stokes ( 1880 - 1962 )
Henry died in a fire in a small cottage on Bucehayes Farm, Post Lane, Honiton Devon Feb 1972.
Any relationship?

Was he the son of James Manley and Fiance Hughes?? If so we have a match.

according to my records i can confirm that henry was the son of  james and finance

He was born in Collerton, as far as we know, in 1881
His children Caroline 1907-1999
                   Leonard 1910-1991
                   Charles  1913 - ?
                   Robert    1915 - ?
                   William   1916 - 1990 ( My father, buried St Michael's Church Cotleigh  Devon )
                   Phyllis   1922            ( Living in Cornwall )
Also  Tilly ( possibly Matilda ) Mary and Henry - no info as yet

are you sure phyliss and matilda (tilly)are not the sme peron.roberrt and sarah had a daughter they called tilly,mattida and phylis but she was one person!
