Gertrude Lilian Smith
Baptism    25 Jun 1905    Worlds End St John, Kensington and Chelsea
Father:    Charles Smith, horsekeeper
Mother:    Carrie Smith
Address 17 Milkman St

There's a very likely Gertrude in the Chelsea workhouse in 1911 - admitted in February, dob 1/6/1905. Still there in the workhouse. A month later, placed into a poor law school. Lists father Charles, then illegible - dob again 1/6/1095

Carrie Davis marries CHarles Richard SMith in 1904. They appear still to be together in 1910, when Winifred Georgina was born

in November 1910 Charles, Gertrude and Thomas were admitted to the Chelsea workhouse

1911 - this could be Mary Hayward? She's working away from home and Carrie has moved in with Eli?

I also found a marriage certificate for a Carrie Davis who married a Charles Richard smith and became Mrs smith at St. John’s church Chelsea in 1904  so they are Potentially they are the same person. But I’m not sure.

Maybe she moved in with Eli James Hayward and never officially married him.

I dont know if anyone has better luck then me?

Eli dies in 1942 in Oxford
Carrie dies in ? 1960 Oxford
But the army record says Carrie was deceased when Eli filled in his army attestation record, I do believe that was so that if he dies the army look after his kids
