Hello,

You could try 1911 indexes - we can't publish any information from that census but there are hints here:

Some sites show place of birth in the indexes.

The thread originally started in 2009 so perhaps if Julie has found the answer to her query she could let us know.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I hope this reaches the original poster of the message - Julie.  We must be related as these people are my relatves too.
And I have had exactly the same trouble with this placename.  I cannot find anywhere in Ireland with the names Courish or Courush.

I can't see an 'L' in there at all.

Was this ever resolved?

Hi Julie here - I just came back to this a couple of days ago having renewed my ancestry sub. In the 1911 census Anne Toole's birthplace is Clonrush as suspected.
Anne's daughter Mary was my great grandmother.

Julie,

Sorry - didn't explain properly! It was the question of Clonrush that I came back to after new info from Ancestry. I took a break from Ancestry for a couple of years but I've been looking in on the Rootschat Cheshire forum regularly.

I hope Deer looks in again - would love to know how we're related!
