I've just come across a 3G-Grandfather of mine John Hogg b1822 in Selkirkshire, was this a brother of William b1821?

This John Hogg raised a smile because in 1846 he married an Alison Cowe.

Thanks you - it looks like we are distantly related. John Hogg could well have been William's brother. I have children Thomas (b1819), John, James, William (b1822) and Margaret (b1823) born around that time, but I have no birth/baptism for John and James. Can you please provide birth/baptism data for him, and his marriage to Alison Cowe, or point me to an online tree?
