Hi Adam,
Thank you so much for your reply, his wife was Jane Wilson and I think you may have the correct family. They had a child John Wilson Rowell ( the only child I am aware of but I am sure their would have been more) born May 1851 in North Bedburn Durham.
Jane Wilson was supossed to be born in Hilton Yorkshire. Thomas would have been born approx 1805 to 1810 so time is correct. I would love any info from the catholic registers however I am uncertain of their religion
Many thanks again
Yvonne fom OZ

Hello Ivonne. Yes it is the same family. The baptisms that I have are for the Rowell family with the maiden name Wilson.
They had 5 children.
If you require the information go to the "look up offers Wolsingham and Tow Law catholic" and put your request on that page.
I do not think the look up offer page is working very well.
The marriage and the Jarrow inscriptions show lots of numbers but they were done on this page and were moved in November.
Other than that I can not see that there have been any replies.(I may be wrong)
Anyway it would be nice to see it working. Just read the how  to use in the first posting and see how it goes.

Adam

Hello Adam
Thanks again for your info, I did find the Wolsingham and Tow Law Catholic page but cannot seem to get into it there seems to be only 1 message there from you that is if I am on the correct page. It will not let me post a message but in all probability I am doing something wrong I am not too familiar with computers. I would love all info and children/baptisms of this family do you have any suggestions for me to try as I have very little of this family and am excited I have finally found them.
Sorry to bother you again as you have already been most helpful and shared your time with me already
Thankyou
Yvonne from OZ

Hello Ivonne. You are not the only one that finds it confusing,
I have had a couple of  mails from people wanting information who do not know how to use that part.
Go back to that page where I have posted that look up offer and click on the part where it say "new topic" and the post your request.
Good luck.

Adam

My grandfather is burried in the cemetary at Tow Law, unfortunately he doesn't have a marker.  However his parents would also be burried there, they are Thomas Moses died circa 1901 and his his wfe Sylvia who I don't have a date of death.  Does anyone know of the approximate area in the graveyard they are burried and if there is a memorial on the stone.

Also burried at the cemetary is my maternal grandparents, George and Margaret Davison. They are near the entrance and last year were joined by the ashes of their daughter Jean Davison.  Just in case anyone wishes to know.

I don't think Adam will mind me saying that if you want anything from his MI's for Tow Law you post it on his Tow Law thread and he will answer you on there.

That is so he does not get records mixed up and also other people looking for those names will be able to find it from that thread.

Hello Craythorne. Here s two inscriptions although they are of a later date than the one you mentioned:-

In loving memory of William Charles Henry Etherigdge, who died March/25/1931 aged 3 years.

In loving memory of Edith, beloved wife of John William Etheridge, who died January/22/1934 aged 37 years.

There are Catholic convert baptisms for Etheridge. If you want them post the request on the Durham REQUEST board using the heading "Wolsingham and Tow Law Catholic baptisms" that I have put on the LOOK UP OFFERS board

Thank you adamand for your quick response to my query and to the moderator who so kindly helped me along to your site.  I am going to Durham Records Office very shortly so will look up those Catholic baptisms you mentioned.  Much appreciate your assistance to point me in that direction as the vast majority of my ancestors that lived at Hedley Hope were staunch Methodists.  The John Wm Etheridge is the son of the Wm & Mary I was so interested in
