Census records for Northern Ireland were mostly destroyed in a fire in Dublin, or were destroyed by the Irish government, so the first full census available is 1901, but that is not online yet. The 1911 census has just come on line in December 2008, and is fully searchable at : http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

Hi,

i did hear something about the fire.
i have tried the pilot site but had no luck on there.

If i could find out the parish names and contact the church to where birth/marriage etc was taken place would they be able to tell me anything?

Only way of contacting them at the moment is by leter or phone/email if they have one.
Would  i be able to obtain the records or any infomation via this method or would i have to go in person?

regards
Bambino

I have google searched urban 6/15 in belfast with regards to finding the RC Church in belfast district where i have been told of 2 marriages.

I came up with one church name- St Malachys on alber street in belfast .....is there any other way of finding out?

regards
