Violetta Green
« on: Tuesday 03 February 09 15:44 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me track Violetta Green born about 1848 in either Gawber, Gawber Hall,or Barnsley?
Later married Samuel Abbott born 1845, near Sheffield, and died in 1881. He was in prison in 1881 and worked as a glass founder.
Cheers
Janet

Have her on 1881 and 1891 census but can't find her before that.
In 1881 living with her daughter Orelia and son William in Wakefield. Between 1881 and 1891 she married Israel Guest. In 1891 they were still living in Yorkshire.

Hi, I think I've found her in 1851.  The family have been indexed as Gavens', the original census sheet is very difficult to read but looks like Green to me.  Could this be her?  Living in Dodworth - parents Charles and Mary, siblings Louisa, Isabella, Editha.
