Archibald Henry,TYresson,Cookstown
« on: Tuesday 03 February 09 13:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi All
Found this death notice in Mid Ulster Mail of May 4, 1912
Archibald Henry ,at his residence, Tyressan April 30 1912. Interred in Clare Churchyard.
I think this is the same Archibald Henry born 1847,in Drumnaglogh,Cookstown and married to Nancy Neill in Derryloran C.O.I on 1870.
Can anyone confirm this, and also list possible children of this marriage.
Thanks for looking at my posting.

IGI (www.familysearch.org) lists Mary Henry born 29 Aug.1872 Cookstown district to Archibald Henry & Anne Neill.

The 1911 census will probably help sort out who Archibald was married to (if wife was still alive) as it will not only give her Christian name but that census asks married women how many years married and how many children they've had (and how many were living).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Early Derryloran CoI Parish Registers have been scanned and can be viewed online at http://www.derryloran.com/.  Could be a good bet for your baptisms.

Curley,
I do not think that it is the same Archibald. The PRONI wills section has a Archibald Henry of Drumnaglough, Tyrone who died on 14 Sept 1905. The will callendars can be viewed in the PRONI website.

Curley,
I have done a bit more digging and have found that the Archibald Henry who died in 1905 was 79 years old. There is a marriage of Archibald Henry to Mary Jane Henry in 1853. I think that this is the same Archibald Henry so yours could very well have married Nancy Neill. The Griffith Valuation gives several Henrys in this townland, including one Archibald, so it appears that yours did not leave a will.

Note: the Wills in PRONI are from Armagh, Belfast and Londonderry Registry Offices. If the estate was dealt with somewhere else (Dublin, for example) it will not be listed.

Aghadowey,
Agreed, I currently have this problem with a 1903 will.

We were actually chatting about the Henrys last night, there was a family lived across the road from my descendants, Coulters at Teressan or Tyresson as it is now known as.  The man unfortunately died in an accident and the family then up and left.  I am nearly sure they left for America after that and my great great Grandfather bought over the house and lands.  The house was originally split and there were two houses there with two families living at that address before the Henrys moved into it.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Tyresson2012
Thanks for the post.Yes am aware of the Henry family you speak about and the accident.
The  Henry family I,m researching lived in no 39 Red Row,tullyweary according to the 1901 census,
spelt as Archibold Henry, with wife Nancy, daughterLizzie and Nephew George Sampson Henry.
Icannot seem to find this family in the 1911 census, yet Archibald dies in Tyressan one year later.
Thanks for your interest, and can you confirm if Tyressan townland and Tullyweary are the same place
Thanks Curley
