Linux FH programmes?

Does anyone have any thoughts on running family history programmes under Linux?  I currently use Family Historian on Windows XP, having swapped from My Heredis when support for the Windows version was dropped.  It would be useful to have something on a Linux based netbook for work "in the field" and possibly to transfer completely to Linux in the future.

Gramps looks useful, but only provides straight ancestor/descendant charts rather than all relatives, which I would really prefer.

Lifelines is supposedly very powerful but seems to be based on command line input and scripting, I had more than enough of command line working in the days of CPM and DOS and would prefer to avoid it.

Is there anything else available?  Is it possible to run Family Historian under Wine? I have heard stories of people doing this but nothing concrete?

You might be able to get some Windows programs working using WINE in Linux.

I did get the Windows version of PAF from familysearch (LDS) to work but it didn't look and feel quite the same in Linux.

I have just answered a similar query relating to Macs. 

I have Mac, PC windows and Linux.  In order to be able to use common software I use an Apache/PHP/Mysql combination on the Mac and Windows and run Phpgedview on both. I use MAMP on the Mac and EasyPHP on Windows.   On Linux I use it with the webservice software installed running through 127.0.0.1. 

All done offline and only on my machine.  Makes it easy to transfer data, and only one program to remember how to use.

Family Heritage free version works as well in wine on Ubuntu as it does in Windows.
