Unless the post was a full time one it's unlikely that occupation would be given on a census return
He may have had a different full time occupation and performed the secretarial duties in a voluntary capacity

may have records which could be of help....They may be able to confirm the existence of a Sunday School by that name and if so they may hold the minute books of meetings or accounts which may contain a reference to John William Baynton
