No,  I'm very new to Rootschat - glad I found it though.   Friendly bunch - I get a lot of laughs just reading the chatter.

Well this time in 2 weeks we'll be well into it and I can't wait! The weather should be good but if not hey ho we'll be inside most of the time (unless we do he Conga through the streets of York...I'm sure a few of the locals wouldn't mind tagging along ;) )

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, some for the first time :)

Thanks again Ann for making this possible :)

Hi all

THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE MEET

Ok here we go

FIRST AND FOREMOST MY MOBILE NO : 07971 995066

If for any reason anyone can't make it or get lost or whatever, please ring!

THE ITINERARY

Friday 19th - As folks are ariving from all over at different times nothing organised re meals etc but if folks want to meet up just ring. I'm staying at the Premier Inn (Central)as are some other chatters.

Saturday 20th -:

10.30 Meet in cafe at National Railway Museum. Entry is free. Lunch will also be at cafe to fit in with individual requirements. Can commend the Museum even if you're not a choo choo buff. They do have some archives so if you have a rellie who worked on railways worth a go.

2.00 - York Minster. I haven't gone for the volunteeer tour cos it was only a scratch the surface job and saved us 50p per person onl'y so it's a free for all. The entry is £6 per person but if you want to go up the tower (iron lungs not provided) or down to the crypt then tis extra. They assure me you can buy these after the initial entry if you have a fit of energy. The Minster is to use a word I usually hate - awesome! So bring your camera!

4.30ish - a walk round the wall behind the Minster - to note this isn;t suitable for anyone with severe walking difficulties as medieaval stairs are involved

7/7.30 - we eat at the pub in the link attached. http://www.markettowntaverns.co.uk/brigantes.asp?Tavern=Brigantes&Section=Main

It is a real ale pub!

Sunday 21st June - Having given this a deal of thought I deliberately haven't arranged for us to go anywhere tho I will have about my person details of lots of places folks can go. The main reason being some folks have long journeys home and it puts time pressure around seeing things and getting trains. So I am suggesting we chat about it over Saturday tea and agree what we'd like to do for those who can linger a bit on Sunday. If folks need to be off that's fine - I know some do. OR some may want to do some serious shopping.

Am looking forward to seeing everyone!

If anyone needs a map or to know where the car parks are please let me know - posted earlier on thread but happy to repeat.

Ann :)

Thanks for that Ann. You have done some fantastic organising! I think you have made the right decision about Sunday....... The tavern looks great and is a very convenient place for where I am staying (that's very selfish I know  ;) )
Looking forward to it and meeting the rowdy lot  ;D and starting my birthday week in style (see I got that in again.....!!)

Huzzah!
