How to successfully search the Irish BMD site?

Continuing on from the above, I went back and searching for Andrew Lynd with Londonderry, Ireland as the place and 10 results appeared including 2 deaths for Andrew Lynn aged 2 with no year and a birth for Andrew Lynn birth in 1866 which may be the missing record I mentioned in above post.

In most databases doing the broadest search with just the name should give the most results and then narrowing down the search criteria with a place should give fewer results but this doesn't seem to be the case here.

Unforunately, unless you know the name (or at least the surname) of the partner there's no way of matching up the details.

I spent a good hour on this site looking for my grandfather's and grandmother's births.  It's useful but not detailed enough.  However I could not find my grandfather but there were 2 possible entries for my grandmother.   So I will spend 12 euros with the GRO and see what comes up!

I managed to get a list of people I was looking for, but once I tried to view the document it froze the computer every time I could see part of the page but not anything worth noting.

It seems to jam part way across the two pages.
