Hi Bev & Sylvia,

And thanks for looking for me.

Bev, it seems to be a bit patchy re: enumerator's details...

The ones for my G/grandparents, Evan & Margaret Rees are available, (& it looks as though Brynforgan Terrace might come under Clydach Road), the Enumerator here is Walter REES, - but I think that REES is a pretty common name in South Wales ;D . However, it says that info for St Helens Road isn't yet available...(?)

Bev, St Helens Road is a funny one, because I had tried it with & without apostrophes, & it wasn't there, - but now suddenly it is, (without one though:-)

Down to my last few credits now, - think I'll wait until it goes on Ancestry before I try again with it!!

Maybe they're putting things right as they go along?  ??? If so at least it shows they are listening to people!  ;D

It is possible to just put in an area eg. Bonymaen in the Swansea area and then plough through all the results to find the right street. Or just Terrace or Road in the same way.

As for the enumerator's pages they say this in the e-mail I received;

Please note: some 1911 census returns do not have accompanying Enumerator’s Summary-Book pages. There are none for British Navy ships or military establishment returns – the head of the establishment or ship’s captain was effectively the enumerator. And the Enumerator’s Summary Books for some parts of England and Wales have not survived, so will never be available online.

Disappointing for some.  ???

Does anyone know which area of Swansea Brynforgan Terrace would have come under?

I don't think its there anymore, - I have looked, but can't find it. ???

Someone on here suggested it might be near Rock Street??

Romilly.

I know Rock Terrace and that's in Morriston. I don't know a Rock Street  or a Brynforgan Terrace, but another site says it was in Llangyfelach.

(it's not you is it??) ;D

That would tie in with your family wouldn't it?

Worth a try.  ;)

LOL...no, its not me ;D ;D

Sounds as though someone was trying to find out about one of my G/Grandparent's neighbours...but evidently the site they posted on wasn't as friendly & helpful as this one!!!

The Postal Address for my G/Grandparents on the 1911 is given as this:
(Looks more like a 'Y' than a 'B' to me though...).

Hi Romilly

I was just about to let you know that I had found Ynysforgan  Terrace Clydach  on the 1911 census last night but you will have to go into it to see it..  I am going out for the day now but if you have not got any credits left I will have a look for you  this evening.  Only three entries come up.

Hi Sylvia,

Thats a very kind offer, & Many Thanks for looking for me. :)

I have the 'Original Transcript' page for Evan & Margaret Rees; which doesn't seem to give an exact address. Just, 'Brynforgan Terrace'...I was trying to establish the house number, - but perhaps it didn't have one?

Anyway, I shall wait until the 1911 becomes available on other sites...(hopefully Subscription ones rather than Pay to View).

But Many Thanks again for your kind offer, & Best of Luck with your research.

All Best Wishes, Romilly. :)

Romilly, I'm confused -  that's Clydach Road, Ynysforgan - just up the the road from me here. Is that the word you thought said Brynforgan?  ???
