Hi Romilly,

I had the reverse situation, I couldn't find anyone in the person search and yet found them on the street search.  A friend contacted me last night to say that the same thing had happened to her :-\

After finding my family I went back to the person search and found them ???
I am also most certain that I used the same details in the person search as I found from the street search and were also known to me anyway.
..I tried every combination during the hour I was looking.

Either something is wrong with the search facility or I am going mad.

St Helens (sic) Road comes up.  ???

It's probably some mispelling which is preventing Brynforgan Terrace coming up as well, but I haven't worked that one out yet!  ;D

Hi Bev,

It does indeed, - I've just tried it!

Now what was I doing wrong before? I tried all sorts of variations too... ???
Are they perhaps tweaking it when people complain?

Romilly.

Hi Romily

Just looked at findmy past for list of streets Swansea on the 1891
census and could not see a Brynforgan Terrace.  The nearest sounding is
Brynfynon Road Clase Swansea.

Is this any help

My point was that it is coming up if you don't put the apostrophe in - did you put it in the first time you searched?

I have just received an e-mail from the 1911 census website saying you can now look at the enumerator's pages so I had a look and found that the enumerator for my family was one of my Ambroses!

I'm VERY EXCITED! ;D

I should get out more.  :-[

Well I think theres something wrong with the search facility.  Out of exasperation I searched for ALL Samson Roberts in a certain area, and none came up.  Yet I know there were many in that area at that time, surely ALL cant have avoided the census man. (Also tried Sampson).
Casaubon (Geneva, London), Daulinge, Berners, McMullen (Nottingham), Tabb (Leics), Mycock (Derbys & Staffs), Gilbert (Notts), Price (s Wales), Krilovs/similar, gypsy Roberts, gypsy Clark, Bexell (Sussex), gypsy Elliott, Raven, Neligan (Co Kerry), Rymer, Newton (Hull).
