I agree, switched from ancestry to findmypast for 1911 data, but it has not what ancestry has disapointed in 1851 and 1901 census.

Not done much look ups with time and has not helped with my family history so far time will tell just have to wait.  :P

If that list of the order of scanning is to be believed, - then they will start with Monmouthshire & then move onto Glamorgan.

Perhaps the 'end of summer' quote refers to all of Wales being available by then?

I hate waiting for things...

that's certainly what I'm hoping, Romilly. Still can't find a really impatient smiley!

Cas, I agree with you about FindMyPast. For all the problems with Ancestry's transcriptions, at least they have all the years , you can see the transcribed birth place and compare the years in one search instead of searching year by year.

Oh I hate playing the waiting game, someone had a really angry smiley on a posting the other day I could do with that one! its sooo frustrating! ::)
My A** sub ran out last year and I haven't renewed because I wasn't sure whether to go with FindMyPast but I've already spent £75 on the 1911 - well worth it I think, £3.00 per image instead of £45.00!  Now I just have to decide whether to go back to Anc* or jump into FindMyPast.

I'm looking forward to seeing Glamorgan too. Apparently some thing is missing from central Cardiff. I hope it won't affect my ability to find all my Irish/ Greek/Welsh ancestors :)

All English counties now complete
April 8th, 2009
Overnight, we have uploaded records for the remaining English Counties (Northumberland, Cumberland, Westmorland) and added the missing Gateshead district records into the county of Durham (they were incorrectly listed as part of Northumberland - this is now fixed and they are searchable under Durham, as they should be).

Therefore all English counties are now complete.

Scanning of Welsh records is well underway and we are working on the transcriptions of the first batch of Welsh counties, which will be the next data release. Although we do not have a precise release date for them yet, we anticipate that we will have some data from Wales available in the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Not long now for Glamoran

You can get access under the FOI act but you then have to travel to Kew in order to do the search yourself.  I checked recentkly to see how tyhe transcription was getting on - still no progress on Glamorgan.  Is there someone to complain to at the census site??

Rob.
