Looking for information on Antonio Moretti , from Beverone, northern Italy. He is in the 1871 cencus staying in Glasgow with his wife, Maria, and daughter Emiglia. He married a local girl later on that year. Don't know what happened to his wife and child.

Have you looked on scotlandspeople for a possible death for his wife and daughter?
At his second marriage, does he list himself as a widower?
I see that his daughter's birth is on the IGI and shows his first wife's maiden name as Frusetti - you might check under that as well in case she left him and switched back.
If she returned to Italy it might be very difficult to track them, unfortunately.

Hello! I've just stumbled on this thread and I was wondering if anyone might be able to help.
I'm a student at the University of Edinburgh. I'm doing a research project on Italian language maintenance among the Scotsitalian community and on its role in shaping the identity of successive generations of Italian immigrants.
If you're a Scotsitalian (no matter whether you speak Italian or not) or have Italian ancestors (no matter how remote they may be) and think you could spare 5 minutes (honestly, it won't take more than that) to fill up a questionnaire I would be very grateful. Please send me a private message and I'l forward the questionnaire to you.
Thanks a lot
Katia
