Need ideas about this family:
It's rather confusing.
Charles and Mary Ann Pheasey have the following children with them in 1861:
Bessie A. Davis age 10
William Pheasey age 5
Henry Pheasey age 3
Harriet Pheasey age 1
I found Charles Pheasey m. Mary Ann Davis in 1859 Banbury District according to the Free BMD. I can not find a parish record for their marriage.
I found Mary Ann Davis with her husband John Davis in 1851 along with two children, Elizabeth and Caroline. I found both of their cr. records in Long Itchington. I also found a parish marriage record for Mary Ann Gramshaw and John Davis 1847 St Marys Warwick.
Now the mix gets better, Harriet is cr. Harriet Esther Davis with only her mother Mary Ann Davis mentioned in 1860 Radway. This is supposedly after Mary Ann's marriage to Charles? And I can't even find William's cr. he was supposedly born in Southam. I found Henry cr. Henry Charles Pheasey in 1858 (before their marriage) in Radway to Charles Pheasey and Mary Ann. All very topsey turvy and confusing. My ancestor is Edith Pheasey cr. 1863 St Mary, Warwick parents Charles Pheasey and Mary Ann. (oh and Edith Pheasey marries Joseph Payne and move to Canada, having several children including Mary Ann Gramshaw Payne!)
Any ideas about what's going on here. To make matters worse she's supposedly dead by 1871 with Charles (he's consistently a Shoemaker on most census' I find him) lodging somewhere and henry is in the banbury workhouse, can't find my ancestress, Edith anywhere in 1871.
