1851 census Gravesend - Fitness family
« on: Thursday 10 February 05 12:06 GMT (UK) »
Would anyone have access to 1851 census information for Gravesend and be willing to check a family for me?
Trying to locate William Fitness in Gravesend in the 1851 census.  He would have been living at 16 Mansfield Place or possibly already at Nelson Place, Gravesend.  William was born c1808 in Wrotham and he would have been widowed.  His occupation was greengrocer.  His children were Frederic and Emily (it's very possible there were more)

Many thanks
Juliette   ;D

Dear Carol
What a lovely surprise to find your reply this morning. Your information gives me 3 more children to this marriage which I didn't know about, so a very big thankyou for taking the time to look this family up for me.  That was very kind of you and I appreciate that.
Where Frederic was is a bit of a mystery then, he would have been about 6 years old in 1851.  He went on to marry and have children so I would have thought he'd be with his father.  New information always just seems to raise more questions, doens't it   ;D  All good fun.
It's so exciting when new information turns up, I can't wait to start filling in some more gaps.  Very many thanks again for your help.
Happy Easter
Kind Regards
Juliette
