Gail,
I was in Scotland Street today.
Not a lot of the original buildings left.

Scotland St school was amazing.  Recommend a visit.

What number were your folks at?

Deanna / Troy
The address in Queen St is no more.  Sorry.
Govan addresses next week!

Just a quick update from me.
Sorry to those that have asked for photos that I haven't replied to yet.

I still have details of requests but I haven't been out and about much recently, the weather has been lousy and I've not been of a mind to go gadabout.

I WILL get around to it sooner, rather than later.  Promise.

I'm still open to new requests too.

Good weather, guilt and lack of hangover have finally kicked in all at once for this Glaswegian!

Making my way out to Govan now.

Bear in mind, this is Govan as it is now, not the Parish, which covers a much wider area.

I've got certain streets earmarked for folk that have specifically asked.  However, I'll take other photos on route.

I will get to others eventually, promise.

Having said that, have you seen that Google is now taking in Glasgow just in the past few days.  Brilliant.

Dave

Hello Dave.  If you pass 48 Gallowgate (I know this exists as McKinnons Bar) or 116 Drygate (don't know if this exists) could you take a wee photo for me.  Would be more than happy to reimburse you any costs.......cept, perhaps your shoe leather...........Thanks,  Eva

Hi Dave,

Is Rutherglen on the right side of town for you - just asking?

If it is, would love a photo of the railway station, which my father-in-law took great pride in keeping in spic and span order way back when - Used to win prizes for it I believe.    I wonder what it looks like now.

They lived in semidetached houses on high side of main road in Rutherglen - near the road going up a steep hill to some park or other - how's that for a good description       ;D    - I've been there years ago but can't remember any names - or . . . maybe Stonelaw Road - would that be it?   - dredged up from the depths of memory.  If R'glen is the wrong side no matter!

Cheers,

Wiggy

Bugger!

Passed through Rutherglen coming back from York Meet on Wednesday!

I wouldn't normally have any reason to go to Rutherglen but if weather keeps up, I might make a wee trip.  A short train journey gets me there.

I have a long list of places to go but will get to them all eventually.

You are correct with Stonelaw Road.  It runs off the beginning of Main St - very much changed since I was there last.
