I've just found some ladies who were Hard Straighteners  :o


- in 1851, mind you.  Genuine - beautiful handwriting from the enumerator.  (To do with needle-making, it seems.)

Taking the census very literally...Alice Wilson aged 42 puts her place of birth as "BEDROOM" ;D
