Blue family
« on: Tuesday 20 April 04 03:03 BST (UK) »
I am interested in information on my great grandfather Dugald Blue who I believe was born in Kilmun in 1852.  He emmigrated to Ireland (I don't know the year) and married Mary Griffin in 1878.  He reportedly died in Dublin in 1928.  I have very little information on his parents or siblings.  Any information you can provide would be most welcome.

Most BLUE families in Argyll are a sept of the Clan MacMillan.  Try the official clan website:

Good Luck!

Very excited to read your message. Dugald and Mary were my grandparents. I thought he was born in Greenock in1855 and went to Ireland aged 17. His son Dugald, my father, was born in Dublin 1n 1881 and I am the offspring of his 3rd marriage. Frances, Barbara, Anna  and Dugald were born to his 1st wife. My father had 7 siblings-Archibald John, Colin who died aged about 18, Hugh, Gerald, George and Ellen Mary (Nell). I believe that the last 3 boys went to USA. You must be the offspring of one of these? Look forward to hearing more! Blueth

Hello,

I'm very pleased to meet you!  Gerald Griffin Blue b.2/18/1886 was my grandfather.  He emmigrated to the U.S. in 1912 and married Mary Ledlie in 1913.  They had three children, Gerald (my father), Patricia, and Ledlie.  Hugh and George did also emmigrate to the U.S.  I'm looking forward to exchanging much more information.
