Hi matsman,
I just had a look for newspapers for the New Mills area for that date, but it is only showing earlier ones.
The results for Knutsford are better, but I thought if I sent you the site so you can look them up yourself then it might come in useful again at some later stage.
http://www.bl.uk/
* Look under 'what's on' - click on 'online catalogues'
On new page click on 'Newspaper catalogue subset'
Then you can do you search.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Paulene :)

I have a George Hill born Chapel around 1827. He married Mary Newton from Hazel Grove.
Any connection Please?

Hi Frithy,
I have two George Hills on my tree one born 1791 and was an Inn keeper and Miner , he was married to Hannah. The second ,his son George born c1818. Both are registered as Chapel en le Frith but the area they came from was Peak forest.
I don't know if his son married as I  have only concentrated on my direct line.
I have a tree on Genes Reunited, if you have access to the site  you will be able to view it. Let me know.

Regards

Is there any trade directories that you could look at for Chapel?
