Poor chap died on the way to hospital then, but did it not give his home address.  Was the informant his wife, has it not given her address?

I'd ring the cemetery office and see if they can help, the website I gave was just for the death cert if you didn't have it

If he worked at Britannia Mill and was taken to NR Infirmary, isn't he likely to be another candidate for Linthorpe Cemetry?

That's where my grandfather worked - and was fatally injured, too.

Hi Barbara and Genjen,

his wife was not the informant - she had already left him (taking their 3 girls with her) and came down to Hillingdon.  (Haven't found out why yet!)

Under informant it says:

Certificate received from O (?) St. Cochrane  - Coroner for Middlesbrough.  Inquest held 7th March 1934.

And just had another look - address was: 27 Carey Street, Middlesbrough (Occ. Slinger at Steel Works).

That would be great if he was buried at Linthorpe - but I doubt that he had a grave stone- I would think something like a pauper's grave.

If he was a 1934 burial isn't it more likely he's in Acklam cemetary?

As I said, Viv, if you just give the Mbro cemeteries office a ring, they should be able to help, then if you could let us know where and what grave number we can go and look

Gals, I wonder if I could be really cheeky and ask you to check on a couple for me? I know I'm not a million miles away but if you're going to Linthorpe cemetery anyway .......?

I found these grave numbers from the burial records but they don't seem to tie up with the map I have of the cemetery. Could you possibly see whether they are in the B and C areas and if so, are there any headstones?

David PRICE died 9 May 1887, grave 4830B, husband Of Hannah.

Julia STREET, died 5 July 1904, buried 9 July, grave 1262C, wife of William.

I would be very grateful for any info/photos if you can manage it.

Thanks!

Have just seen this thread.  I have BURTONs, BENNETTs and DALESs and LINCOLNs all around that area - but have been doing husbands ONS on 1911 and elsewhere recently.  If I have time I will tell you the burials I know, but I may well not have this weekend , will you be having a similar outing in the future?
