Hoping some one out there can point me in the right direction.
This is what I know Joseph James Spurrell dob March 1892 Plymouth Devon, in 1905 he joined the navy,I think he lied about his age.I have his navy papers and it says dob 1888.But every thing else is right,he went all over the world but at some point jumped ship and ended up in USA.He married a lady out there we know this as I am in contact with his granddaughter.He left her nan with 3 young children and went to California were he married again, we think he was also married in England!The storey goes her nan reported him to the navy and he got transported back to England.
The question is where can i find information on what happened to him after he got back.I have looked for a death cert but cant find one that fits him.
We would like to find an end to this part of the family tree.

ps the dates ars between 1919 and 1939 when he jumped ship to being brought back.

Possible? There seems to be a record of a Joseph J SPURRELL who died in 1947, registered in Cabarrus County, North Carolina.

On the NC Death Cert  Index 1909-1975:

He's listed as Joseph James SAUNELL and born England, died 1947

On the seperate NC Death Records 1908-2004 on same link,
It appears to be listed as Joseph J SPURRELL died 1947

The may be more to see on these records   - perhaps a post on the US emigrants board might be helpful?
