I have been researching the single Irish girls who came to Western Australia in 1853 on the "Palestine" (as my great, great grandmother was on that ship) and there were two Tully girls on that ship, Bridget and Catherine. Both girls married in Western Australia and had children. Bridget married Samuel Willis in York in 1856 (I haven't yet, but could look up whether they had children if you like). SHe died in 1907.
Catherine married Joseph Watkins in York and I have found records of three daughters, MaryAnn, Harriet and Ellen, but there may be more children.
I have found that many of the girls on the "Palestine" were from Galway. Were the Tully sisters from Galway? If so, do you have any further information of where they came from and how they came to eimgrate to Australia (ie from a workhouse or other institution)?
Please let me know if you are additional information and I will see if I can access it for you.
Many thanks,
Anne
