Just thought I would mention, I am also researching the McPaul family as my husband's grandmother was Rose McPaul b.1870 in Donegal and married to John McCole in 1901.  Incidentally, Rose's father was Patrick McPaul b.1827??  and mother was Catherine Sweeney which seems to be a bit of a coincidence.  Patrick's father was Bryan McPaul.  Perhaps there is some relationship here.

This is really good news regarding the recordings.  Rose was my husband's grandmother and he had been told that she had made these recordings, however we could not find any info about it.  She would be about 57 years old when she made them. We do not have any photographs of Rosé but will ask other family members if they have any.  Unfortunately at that cameras were not a luxury and I am not very hopeful.

Nabla3 - I've put up a first effort at a webpage on Rose McPaul at http://www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/~oduibhin/doegen/niccomhaill_biog.htm   I would be very pleased to get any feedback.  Lots more info is still needed about her and her family, and please let me know if you see anything to be corrected.  And thanks for offering to ask around about a photo.  Regards.

Thank you for the reply.  Rose also had another daughter, Margaret who was born 18/09/12 in Ireland.  James her son, died at an early age in 1916, her husband John died in 1919 and she died in 1936.  My husband identified where they were buried in Dungloe Main Cemetery and erected a cairn in their honour.  This can be viewed at www.irishgraveyards.ie plot 114 Sec C refers.  We have been trying to build up a family tree and it is interesting to find all this information.  If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
