Hi !  I am looking for info. about Mary Barr born in 1795.  I'm not sure about her parents, but have been told that they were John  Barr and Margaret Weir.  Mary married Thomas Meikle in 1817 in Lesmahagow, and they came to the US in 1845. Family history says that her parents disowned her because of her marriage, but I don't know that for a fact.  Does anyone have Mary Barr Meikle in their family tree?

Thomas and Mary (Barr) Meikle are my gt-gt-gt grandparents.  I have no more information than you did at the time of your post, but would be happy to share whatever I may have of use to you.
