Toomeys in Cork early 1800s (note spelling), also Dwyer
« on: Monday 05 January 09 22:28 GMT (UK) »
My relative Patrick Toomey was born in Cork around April 30, 1820, parish unknown.  His birth transcript does not match any listed online so far, so he may be from south Cork, maybe Cork city.

He went to the USA around 1847, and settled in Cohoes, NY.  Another Patrick Toomey also settled in Cohoes, but that one went on to New England.  Mine went on to Forestburgh, NY, eventually.

Patrick's father was Humphrey Toomey, and his mom was Julia Dwyer, both apparently from Cork.

Does this register with anyone?

Thanks.
