Thank you very much for your detailed response! The parish name is very helpful. Lawrence Molloy was apparently my ggg-grandfather, if the 55yo family history book I am using as a reference is correct. Both his dad and son were named Michael, unless the book messed up. I hadnt checked Griffiths for him, but I will. I also saw some evidence of multiple McCormick spellings, but I tend to see "ick" the most.
The Patrick McC you mention does not appear to be a direct ancestor of mine. Mine were Edward McCormick, born around 1790; his son was Edward, born 1815 (died 1900 in New York state); and his son was John McCormick, born in Horseleap in 1844.
I will ask around the area when I come over in March.
