Hi ,

Thanks for taking time to help me.
Christopher, that site is really interesting, and the Micheal DIAMOND certainly looks as though he could be the father of the Isabella, Audrey mentioned, being in Portrush.

Anthony, thanks for your suggestion, Isabella went on to marry a BELL when she came to Scotland. It would be quite srange if this were to be her families premises.

I really am a bit lost where to turn with all this as all my research so far has been mainly Scotland, I really do appreciate these suggestions, it is certainly keeping me right anyway!

Hi Christopher.

Having a further look through the site you recommended i found 3 women matching Michaels details, (area, place of signing, agent). Michaels entry didn't show an address.
The women were:
Roseann, Quarry St, Portrush
Martha, 11 Kerr St, Portrush
Mary, Sheer St, Portrush

The more i am looking, i reall think this is the family of the Isabella mentioned by Audrey. I have nothing on paper to show Isabella was from Belfast. The only confirmation of this information was from my Aunt! I would really like to hear what you think and any suggestions on where to go from here!
Many thanks for alll your help so far.

Just wondering if you ever succeeded in you quest for info re Isabella Diamond and parents . I ask this because I am also descended from Michael and Roseanne and still live in Portrush. I have examined all our Church of Ireland records and have birth dates and deaths for all entered. Isabella had a brother Joseph who was my great grandfather - he and his eldest son both died in WWI in 1917 - 6 weeks apart. If you are still searching I will get my records out. FYI - Lower Kerr Street = Albert Place = Quarry Court. The rock was quarried out of the hillside to help build the harbour amongst other things and was known as Quarry Court because of this. The houses in it were built in 1860 - hence the Albert Place but it eventually became known by the Poat Office as Lower Kerr Street and by the locals as Quarry Court - both these names were used alongside each other. The houses were demolished a few years ago - I have photos before they were knocked down. Nothing has been built in their place and you can still see the tiled outline of the floorplans. At one time there were Diamonds in 3 of the little houses

Joseph Diamond (age 46), 12th Bn. Royal Irish Rifles, died 9 Feb.1918 at Leeds from what sounds like pneumonia or some other respiratory illness (buried Old Ballywillan Cemetery)- left wife and 6 children.
His son Joseph, 1st Bn. Royal Irish Rifles, died 7 May 1918 (age 22) and was buried Gwalia Cemetery.

YES - I HAVE COPIES OF THEIR ARMY CARDS AND PHOTOS OF THEIR GRAVES. JOSEPH WAS BURIED IN A FAMLY PLOT BOUGHT BY ROSEANNE AFTER MICHAEL DIED - THERE ARE ABOUT 8 BURIED IN IT.

There's also supposed to be a plaque in Trinity Parish Church, Portrush (your earlier post said Joseph and son died 1917 but it's 1918).

Also, Joseph lied about his age - he was born on the 14th May 1899 so he was just shy of his 19th birthday when he died

Hi, my family, the Faiths, resided in Quarry Court Portrush.  I was wondering if it is possible to get a copy of the picture of these houses prior to being demolished?  It would be truly appreciated. Thanks also for the information re Quarry Court/Lower Kerr St.  I've been trying to pin down exactly where Quarry Court was, with no luck.
Just re the Diamonds.....John (Jack) Faith b. 1877 married Lizzie Diamond, not sure if she's part of your Diamond family line.
