Hi I'm new to roots chat.
My family are from the Pattison/swales/farrow/bow's all romany travelling families in the Yorkshire area.
I've been searching for my grandfather Robert Pattison also known as Tarry Bob.
roberts parents were george pattison and isabella farrow.
Isabella left George and married Henry Wilson.
Robert was also known as bob wilson.
robert married a jane mcconnell in 1916 had two daughters cassie and Isabella.
Robert remarried in Scotland in 1927 to Annie Bow having another 4 children, :Robert, jacob, william and caroline
the only lead I have is the Cassie Pattison married billy Adams.
If anyone knows these family members I'd really appreciate the help

Hi, I notice you are related to the Swales family. my grandmother was Mabel Swales born at Pickering, I think her father was Bill Swales. Mabel married James Hall, they lived around Knaresborough, they had children James Hall, Jane Hall, William Hall and Elizabeth Hall. I know the Halls are connected through the Hall's from Hull to the Farrows.

If so wiliams parents were james swales and mabel busfield. Margarets parents were john Adams and Christiana.

Mabel Swales is my grandmother, she was born at Pickering. My gran married James Burgess Hall born at Knaresborough (hawker), he is the son of Daniel Burgess Hall (hawker) born at Rawcliffe, York (hawker) and Elizabeth Brown born at Hull, Elizabeth is daughter of George Brown from Hull (hawker),

Forgot to mention Daniel Burgess Hall (Mabel Swales father in law) is the son of Thomas Burgess Hall (hawker). I would be great to find out where the name Burgess Hall came in? is Burgess a maiden name of one of the wives, that is a challenge, I seem to have hit a brick wall with that. Thomas Burgess Hall married Christiana from Beverley, her surname seems to be Matisel, Matsey, Matsil, spellings seem to change?. Any info. appreciated,
